Sylvain Charlebois is a full professor in the Faculty of Management and Agriculture at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. He is also the Scientific Director of the Institute for Agri-Food Analytical Sciences at the same university.
His area of research and expertise includes food distribution, food safety and food security. He is one of the most cited experts on the supply chain, the agri-food value chain and traceability.
For nearly 20 years, he has been a regular contributor to the editorial pages of newspapers as an expert in the agri-food field. His research and commentary have been published in leading newspapers and magazines in Canada and around the world.
He has testified on several occasions as an expert witness before parliamentary committees on issues related to agri-food policy. He is frequently asked to act as an advisor on food and agricultural policy in many Canadian provinces and other countries.
